Data sources
Data sources refer to the various platforms and organizations that provide crucial information for environmental monitoring and modeling that is incorporated into the OceanConnect™ service.
Models
Models are computational tools that simulate and predict environmental conditions based on available data. All models are updated every 6 hours, and provide data 48 hours into the future.

Stations
Stations refer to specific monitoring points or locations where data is collected.
Tides & Currents stations
These stations collect data on the movement of tides and currents.
- Canada: CHS Tides API
- USA: NOAA CO-OPS API
Weather stations
Weather stations are facilities equipped with various meteorological instruments to collect data about atmospheric conditions, including air temperature and wind speed.
- Canada: ECCC MSC GeoMet
- USA: National Weather Service API
Buoys
Buoys are floating platforms equipped with various sensors that collect data from the ocean or other bodies of water. In this context, buoy data sources are divided by country:
- Canada: ECCC SWOB Met-ML
- USA: NOAA NDBC
Webcams
Webcam data is sourced through the Windy API
